Inspired by the recollections of a retired sailor we decided to have a look in the Buteman archives to see what was going on when he was stationed here in the 1950's.

HMS Aleric

Alwyn arrived in Rothesay in the summer of 1952 on the Alaric to join the 3rd Submarine Flotilla, who were based in Rothesay between 1952-3 and 1955-6.
