Cut and Rescue, an artist collective based in Jakarta. Cut and Rescue works across mediums, from a collage of images and text, to sound and video pieces, as well as experimental and performative action. The name of the collective can be simply defined as "cut and save”. Cut and Rescue retrieves, copies, and saves cultural artifacts intertwined around the community, which had been considered banal and low, such as newspaper headlines. In any case, we use collage as an ideology in any case. This practice has evolved into a new vision, Berburu dan Meramu, or hunting and gathering. A process inspired by prehistoric life, which forms the basis for inter-scientific collaborative practice.
