Report

This is a foetal doll which was used to demonstrate obstetric methods when training midwives and medical students. It is made from leather and would have also come with an umbilical cord and placenta attachment, although these are unfortunately missing. Dolls such as this have been advertised in medical trade catalogues in the 1930s, but this doll does not have a definite date and may have been used in training for many years due to its condition.
