We anticipate that some of you might want to have computers showing the website (and enabling visitors to take advantage of its interactive capacities for exploring and adding data) located within the museum. The website (and app – see below) are one of the ways we might collect data from visitors with a minimal resourcing load on museum partners. I’d also like to explore the possibilities it offers for bringing the different museums and their collections into conversation with each other; you all have fabulous local collections, but in a sense you are also part of a shared national vernacular culture heritage that is currently scattered in discrete locations. And, of course, your ‘visitors’ may well be ‘locals’ from one of the other areas. Please let us know your thoughts on the website, and how we might most effectively bring the virtual and actual (artefacts and visits) into dialogue.
